What's on? - Reading Lesson (TP6)

Beginner - a1 level

In this lesson, the students will prepare to read a text about things to do when going out in the form of a 'What's on?' section of a magazine/newspaper. In order to prepare, they will discuss some possible activities/places, how often they go to those places, and things/people they've seen in those places. While reading, they will scan for specific information and then answer detailed questions. After reading, they will rank the activities/places from most fun to least fun (1 to 9) as a group.

Grammar 3rd conditional

Intermediate b1 - b2 level

In this lesson, SS learn about the 3rd conditional through PPP based on a reading text about The Dice Man. T will present the lesson with a brief discussion about making hard decision to set the context. SS will answer a few questions in the pre-reading to get the gist. T will expose the SS to the TL with a matching exercise of the 3rd conditional. Finally, SS will produce the TL by completing this activity to prepare for the freer speaking activity in the end.

Upper-intermediate level

In this lessons, students will learn vocabulary associated with chapter 12 of the Listening & Note Taking coursebook. There will be some speaking practice to go along with the practice of the vocabulary while preparing the Ss for the activities in the 2nd block of the lesson.

In this lesson, students will develop their listening skills for gist through prepared material. The prepared listening material is based on a discussion about an identity theft between two people. Students will also have the chance to practise their speaking skills to improve their fluency.

In this lesson the students will practice using the vocabulary common in adverts as well as making polite enquiries. To start the students will discuss adverts and match vocabulary, and in the second part practice speaking through prepared discussion topic cards.

In this lesson SS will activate their productive skills in asking and answering questions about habits and likes.
