This is a grammar lesson about the <b>past</b> <b>simple</b> and the context is houses/buildings. There is a spooky element to the lesson which could bring character to the gestures. The lesson will begin with visuals followed by CCQ and drilling of the grammar model sentences. This will be followed by more controlled practices involving gap fills and listening, before a memory game and back up uncontrolled game at tyhe end.

In this lesson, students will practice talking about experiences. On the picture page we will witness a pretty criminal man's job interview which will end up in a humorous incidental conversation. Students are going to watch pictures and conversation to finally find out this is actually a comedy sketch being filmed. The reading section will generally be the main focus of the lesson between listening and different practices, while we'll also have flashbacks to the previous session's grammar.

Upper intermediate level

Ss will review/learn vocabulary used to describe the taste and texture of food. They will do controlled, semi-controlled and freer activities to practice using these words. This will link back to the initial reading lesson which studied a text about a childhood memory involving food (namely oysters). The speaking portion of the lesson will relate back to the previous grammar lesson in that the Ss will be using their new vocabulary and revisited/clarified grammar to tell each other about foods...

In this lesson students will learn to tell their story through listening to a famous singer telling her story. They will sequence main events through matching pictures to extracts from the recording, completing a gap-fill exercise which will prepare them for writing and speaking about their own lives.
