Present Perfect & Present Perfect Continuous WR SP Practice

Description

Students will practice the Present Perfect & Present Perfect Continuous through speaking and writing activities. I will start the class with a time line activity to introduce the topic followed by one brief presentation, and finish the class with a writing task. After each stage there will be some sort of questions asked to make sure students understood the grammar and to give them more time to practice their English .

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide practice on writing and speaking about life experience in the context of Life experience

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice of using the Present Perfect and Present Perfect Continuous while in the context of life experiences

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will draw an arrow and random picture to elicit events took place in her life . Sts should guess using the present perfect and the present perfect continuous

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

T will ask sts to work in pairs, draw an arrow highlighting certain events in their lives and to discuss these events with each other . Then T will ask Sts if they remembered any of her life's event

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Teacher will show sts slide , read it to them, then ask them to highlight verbs they know and learned about.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Teacher ask student to write down their time iıne in a paragraph. once they're done, she asks them to stick their papers somewhere on the walls . Students to read each others pharagraphs and see if anyone they read about did something interesting in their lives. Talk about it
