Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (10-12 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

In pairs students brainstorm what is typically Russian: people, food, sigts, culture. After compare it to the whole class Students answer some questions about Russians

Pre-Reading (3-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Students do ex.1 from SB. Check it with audo Students look at the picture and decide what is typically British

While-Reading/ (3-5 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Read the text quickly and find the answers to the previous activity

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Pre-teach the key Vocabulary Students read the text and underline the three things which are similar in your country and the three things which are different. They discuss it with a partner

Post-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Discuss their answers as a whole class. Find the plurals for: man, woman, child, person. Brainstorm what else is typically British
