Description

In the lesson, students will learn when to use ''a'' and ''an'' followed by a short exercise . They will be introduced to ''have got'' . Then they will be given a task paper with various exercises to make any of their difficulties clear up.

Abc flash cards

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of words when to use them and how to use them . How those words are pronounced.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide accuracy when using words, or when reading them.

Procedure

warmer/lead in (5-10 minutes) • To cheak if students are able to notice mistakes made in sentences. When to use ''a'' and ''an''.

introduce myself to students and give tell them four sentences about myself -i am a girl -i am wearing an black t-shirt (false) -i am a teacher -i am a english teacher( false) have students read it all together . Then have them point out the mistakes i made then explain when to use ''a'' and ''an'' .(before a consonant ''a'' and before a vowel ''an'') FLASH CARDS 6 images on the board students will fill the gap. give out HO (cutting edge elementry work book page 10 ex 2) students will answer the questions on the board give them time to to make 2 sentences using ''a'' and ''an'' and read it out loud .

highlighting (8-10 minutes) • language focus to draw students attention .

introduce ss to have got. Give students handout(page 20 ex. 1) picture focus read it,give them time to look at it then feedback is given. Then in pairs practice pronunication they ask each other questions using have and got (page 20 ex.3 a) they speak to each other . give them a example then make a sentence about the what they found out using have and got, read out load.

practice (8-10 minutes) • cheak if students have understood when to use words.

SS look at the grammer gap exercise. One example is read then students are placed in A group and group B and the grammar gap in filled out. the answers are placed on the wall one ss from each group has to stand up and find answers on the wall.

controlled practice (8-10 minutes) • To have students be prepared to be fced with different forms of a word.

ss will look at handout (page 20 ex 1 ) students are given time, then a answer sheet will be handed out and cheak. ss will read(page 20 ex 2a) given time to do the handout,then together students ask questions to each other and answer (page 20 ex 2b) students will write four questions alone then paired in groups and ask each other questions.
