Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will inform Ss of my first day in Turkey after a long journey. I reached my hotel very tired, but I refused to enter my room before asking for the facilities the hotel will provide. I will mention some vocabulary which I planned to introduce to the Ss; air conditioning, central heating, countryside, gym, lift, minibar, internet. I will ask Ss about the things they would like to have if they are going to stay in a hotel.

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

In this stage, I will ask Ss to mention as many hotel facilities as possible they would like to have if they are going to stay in a hotel. I will elicit answers from the Ss

Highlightight (6-7 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

In this stage I will distribute a vocabulary list, under these vocab three boxes, in the first box Ss write the vocab they already know. In the box below, write the words they may know, but not sure. In the last box write the words which they do not know at all.

Freer Practice (6-8 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

In this stage, I will divide the Ss into two groups A and B. Group A will stand in a circle, group B will surround them in another circle facing them. Students will discuss together the new vocab in pairs. The teacher will ask group B to move one step to the right to find another partner until they work all together.

Semi Controlled Practice (2-4 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

After that I will show Ss pictures of the words on the projector and they say the word to check that they are all familiar with the new words. I will elicit correct pronunciations for difficult ones from the Ss. I will ask CCQ.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

I will let the students watch a video of a man booking a room in a hotel. Ss will watch the video, but they have to think for answers the questions in the sheet which was given to them. After watching the video, I will let them check their answers in pairs, then with the whole class.

Free Practice (5-6 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

In this stage, I will divide the class into two groups standing in two rows, group A will play the role of hotel receptionist and group B will be the guests. Working in pairs, the Bs will book a room from the receptionist (As), when they finish, they exchange roles. I will monitor the Ss writing notes of their mistakes to correct them (Dec).
