Procedure

Warm-Up (1-3 minutes) • Introduce Main Topic

-The students will be put into groups of 3 or 4 depending on class size.- -There will be 4 pictures of famous people on the WB, Ss will stand up from there groups and look at all 4 pictures thinking about what they have in common.- -Ss will then return to their groups, and the teacher will ask what they had in common, I will write words they tell me on the WB, such as famous, celebrity, actor then find a common word until I elicit Hollywood -

Lead-In (8-10 minutes) • vocabulary

- I will give Ss strips of papers with the sentences from task 2, the Ss will work in their groups to place the sentences in the correct order according to what a famous persons carrier might look like- -when the time is up, groups will check the other groups answers to compare and change if they want to. -when they return to their seats I will play the audio track that lists them in the correct order, after they compare against the audio I will pass out an answer key for them to use later in the lesson, have them check answers one more time then have them return to their seats.- -ICQ- what will you do with your sentences?

Controlled Practice (13-15 minutes) • speaking

-Ss will work in pairs during this task, Ss will be paired according to shy/outgoing or weak/strong, bc this is a difficult and speaking focused activity the pairs need to be somewhat balanced or els some pairs would do very well but other would be lost- -I will separate each pair into Ss A and Ss B, each pair will think of 5 to 6 questions they could ask a celebrity using the phrases they just used in the previous exercise. Do example 1 with WC then check ICQs - will you write 2 Q's NO, will you write 10 Q's NO how many will you write? 5-6, and will you use the phrases from the first exorcise? YES!,- -after the questions are complete Ss B will now pretend to be a celebrity real or fake, and will role play with Ss A who will be the journalist asking the celebrity the questions you just wrote down.- -after I feel the class has gotten sufficient STT bc it is the main activity, I will nominate 2 pairs I felt had strong skills while I was monitoring closely to role play for the class.-

Detail/vocabulary (8-10 minutes) • vocabulary Search

- I will re-pair the Ss and tell them not to look at the back of the worksheet, The students first will listen to a song called"Do you know the way to San Jose" x2 also explain to them they will fill in the blanks with the missing words in the HO. ICQ, are you going to look at the back text? NO!- what will you put in the blank spots on the HO? Missing Song Lyrics- -when the song is done being played twice allow pairs to compare answers for 1 min, then I'll ask how many got 4 right? And I will continue asking for a higher number of answers until there are no more hands, then tell them to flip there HO and check answers.-

Cool Down (3-5 minutes) • Controlled speaking

-with the same partner answer task 3 from the first HO. Tell the Ss not to write the answers but to discuss the answers so we can finish the class with a productive skill-
