Ss are going to learn phrases that can be used more in spoken English to talk about things they are certain are true. The T reads through the first few examples and then asks Ss to do the others. The T then plays the recording for them to check and drill the pronunciation.

The procedure begins with a matching activity. There are 6 different colours of papers, all cut up for the use. The Ss are divided into 3 or 4 groups and asked to match the phrases to sentences. Later on, the Ss will also be asked to read the matched sentences out loud.

The T puts Ss into groups of 3 or 4 people. Asks each group to nominate a speaker. Then goes over the rules with the class to make sure they understand. The T does an example to demonstrate the activity with the help of a student calling out "Change your mind!" after 30 seconds.

The T asks students to mingle and then creates groups consisting of only 2 people. In this pairwork Ss are asked to find a disagreement between themselves. Pairs come in front of the board and defend their ideas by using relevent vocabulary.
