Description

In this lesson students are going to learn "have/has got", yes/no questions and short answers through the context of personal possessions. They will practice the short and complete form of verb in singular and plural form. This is the first lesson with a new group of student. MFP will be introduced to them. Speaking practices will be provided. Appropriacy of the Topic (Formal/Informal, British/American)

Procedure

Warm up (7-10 minutes) • To set the lesson and make sure they understood the listening and can come up with some answers

First I will introduce myself as this is my first lesson with the student. I will introduce two charterers as my friends with two sets of different belongings in their rooms. I give them HOs and ask them to fill up the gap based on the pictures of each characters possessions.

Presentation (7-10 minutes) • To draw students attention to the target grammer they need to learn

I will give the HOs from WB and ask them to answer based on what they have/have not got. The learners will complete a "fill in gap" exercises. I will ask them to check the answers in pairs. I will give them some open class practice of the topic. Drilling P & F Appropriacy of the grammar

Semi controlled - Practice 1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with more practice of the target language

I will explain the word "Twins" and I will ask if twins have usually got the same things. I will try to give students a clear information about characters after giving them the HOs. I will demo some of the question and then I monitor Ss work in pairs. I will give ask them questions about what characters have or have not and encourage them to compare their belongings by stating what she has got and he hasn't or other way around.

Freer parctice 1 (7-10 minutes) • prepare students to concentrate on the use of target language by giving them more free activities

I will give a demo of "find someone who" activity. Split students in two groups and give them HO from two different pages and They will work in the group. I will monitor them while working but try not to get too involved. When they are finished I will ask them to sit and ask some general feedback questions.

Error correction (2-5 minutes) • To clarify Ss' mistakes from other activities and freer speaking activity

I will ask questions about who has got what and write wrong answers on the board to clarify the correct form.
