Description

In this lesson I am going to to make them practice some productive skills like speaking fluency as my main aim and receptive skills like listening as my sub aim

Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a short talk and conversations in the context of target activity

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide specific information listening practice using a text about treasure hunting at a local college in the context of target activity

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (6-8 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- I am going to post a photo on the board. Page 98 in the course book - I will elicit some ideas about the photo. Finding things on the beach - I will tell them a story about me. Finding something on the beach

Exposure (10-12 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

- Give instructions about an audio. - Ask ICQS. * What are you going to do? * Are you going to put the topics in the correct order. - Play the audio. - Check that the sound is clear to everyone. - Do the Task number 2a in pair work group. - Monitoring the students. - Feedback the answers as WC. - Listen again to the audio and do task number 2b. - Work in groups to answer the questions of this task. - Feedback the as WC.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

- Divide the students to groups. - Doing task number 5. - Monitoring and give any help about vocabulary or ideas. - Doing task number 6. - Give instructions to work as one speaker and the rest audience, and when he/she finishes the rest ask him their questions. - Monitoring. - Feedback about the speaker and what they find about him/her. - Another new speaker will talk and the rest will listen to him and write their questions. - Monitoring - Feedback about the speaker and what they find about him/her.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-9 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

- They will work with partner. - They will do task number 7. - Monitoring. - Feedback WC.
