Description

In this lesson, I am going to teach them grammar related to indirect and polite questions, in a way they will know the difference between them, which is more polite, besides the difference in structure. Then they are going to practice speaking about the topic.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- Regrouping them. - Write (question) on the board and ask them to ask me in one minute as much as they can. - Write their questions on the board, and divide it maybe they ask polite and indirect question.

Test #1 (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

- Give them task number one. - Give them instructions how to do it and with who. - Ask them ICQS. - They match 8 questions with appropriate place for each question. - Work in PW and discuss the questions under the task. - Discuss their ideas with GW. - Give them WC feedback. - Ask them CCQS of what they have learned.

Teach (15-20 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

- Using projector to explain the lesson. - Differentiate between indirect questions and polite questions. - Make a quick revision of the whole lesson. - Try to elicit as much as through the lesson. - Ask CCQS about the lesson.

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

- Give them task number two. - Clear and short instructions to do it individually. - Ask ICQS. - Discuss their answers with partner. - monitoring. - Feedback as WC.

Free practice (13-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

- Give instructions. - Ask ICQS. - Work individually to circle 20 questions he/she doesn't mind answering them. - Change the papers between them. - Ask each other the questions. - Make monitoring and make sure they practice in the correct form of indirect questions. - Ask CCQS.
