Description

In this lesson, the students will talk about the places they have visited.This is followed by a listening activity.The students will have a listening about a trip to London of Alejandro. They will have to do a task where they have to prepare a holiday. The students will talk about it and they will describe their holiday to the rest of the students. Then, the students will choose the best holiday among the described holidays.

  • To provide practice of asking simple past questions using where, what and who in the context of a place they have visited

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The teacher sticks some photos of London on the board and asks the students: - "Do you know which city this is?" - "Do you know in which country London is?" -Did you go to London before now? Students will talk about the pictures in a short time to have a idea about London

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Teacher sticks some sentences about the pictures and asks them to come to the board and match the sentences with the pictures.She models first. Feedback: Teacher asks them if they agree and checks the answers and thanks the students to praise them.

Useful Language (10-20 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

The teacher gives a handout which is about a matching exercise they did previous to prepare the students for listening.There are 7 questions and answers about a trip to London of Alejandro. Teacher gives hands out with questions and answers and asks them to match the questions with their answers and tells them to work alone Then she tells them they have 3 minutes to match the sentences. ICQ's: - "What will we do?" match the sentences - "Will you work alone or together?" Alone. - "Howmuch time do you have?" After the students have finished, they will check the answers with their partners. Afterwards, students will listen to recording and check their answers. Feedback:Students will check answers in pairs,and whole-class elicitand the teacher writes the answers on the board and asks them to check. (Teacher will determine through monitoring whether to play the recording a 2nd time). The teacher asks them to talk about the recording they listened to provide them an opportunity to practice target language with their partners. First the teacher gives an example: -Alejandro went to London then teacher gives 3 minutes to talk. While students re talking, the teacher monitors.If they are blocked while talking ,teacher can asks some questions such as: - who did he go with -when did he go.

Productive Task(s) (10-15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice the productive skill of speaking (fluency

The teacher divides the students into two groups and tells them they are going to play a game.Each group will talk about a holiday they went.they need to give some information about the holiday such as. -where did they go? -when did they go? -what did they do there? -what did they eat and drink? They are given 5 minutes for preparation to present .After two groups presentation teacher and the students will choose the best holiday.

Feedback and Error Correction (3-5 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

The teacher monitors the students while the presentation and thanks to them. In this level teacher does not correct their mistakes.Teacher praise them to encoruage to use the target language.
