Description

In this lesson, Ss will be practicing grammar ( Present Simple Question and short answer forms). Ss will practice the TL which they have been using in the Listening Lesson with Matt. T is going to give Ss the Grammar points to use.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of Present Simple Question form and Short answer in the context of Family and Friends

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Conversation with the HO in the context of Family and Friends

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Engage the students with the previous lesson

Clarification (10-12 minutes) • To clarify and check the meaning, form and pronounciation of the question form of present simple tense.

T gives Ss the formulas of the questions form for the present simple tense. ( Ask Ss if there anybody who wants to share the formula) T focuses on the form of questions and drills questions formula with Ss. CCQ here like; Do we put the verb after the subject? Drill the question forms. T explains the activity and Ss do this activity with a partner. T conducts WC FB.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To reinforce the present simple tense and encourages Ss to use it accurently.

T tells Ss to fill in the blanks individually. When they have finished check in pairs. During the pair check T monitors to catch the errors. If there are some errors occurs T writes them to the board and work on with the MFP.

Semi-Controlled Practice (5-8 minutes) • To prepare students for free practice

Individual practice for making questions and cheking the answers in pairs.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To encourage Ss to use the simple present more fluently

T tells the Ss that they need to ask questions about their family. T points out that they need to use present simple. When Ss have finished asking each other T asks 2-3 of the Ss to share their partners answers with class. ( if time is enough)
