Presentation of the target language (10-14 minutes) • to present, introduce and clarify 'to be' through the context.

Before starting the grammar part, I need to make a general sense of the subject through a context. I am going to prepare a handout about number plates, give the hand out to the students and want them to match the dialogues with the number plates on the right.I want them to check in pairs. After that I am going to write a few sentences from the dialogues on the board and want them to circle the verb to be. After that, I am going to clarify the verb to be.I am going to show how to form it through the examples that I have written on the board. And then I want them to underline to be in dialogues and let them check in pairs. And then I am going to draw a table on the board and want the students to write the contractions. I will let them check their answers with their partners After the students write the answers on the board, I will show them how to pronounce the contraction.

Practicing (7-14 minutes) • to give the opportunity to practice the target language

I will give them 2 conversations and want them to circle the correct answers in 2 minutes. Then want them to check their answers with their partners. And then I am going to select the students to answer the question by saying his/her name. Fill in the gaps exercise; I am going to give them a handout and want them to complete the sentences with is or are.And then want them to check in pairs. I won't give the answer. I will put the answer on the wall. They are going to stand up and find the answers. Rewrite the sentences exercise from the page 137. I am going to give a handout and want them rewrite the sentences according the symbol in the brackets. e.g Are we in this hotel? ( +) The answer is ' we're in this hotel. I am going to let them check their answers in pairs and then want them to write the correct sentence on the board by saying his/her name.

They will answer some of the exercises in the WC and also they will work in pairs. I am going to change their partners. They will ask and answer questions to eachother.

Feedback and error correction (2-3 minutes) • to provide feedback on students'productions
