Description

In this lesson, Ss will be practicing vocabulary about Telecommunication facts and figures. Ss will have a reading and listening part after the vocabulary informations. Ss will have a gist listening and have some questions. Then they will listen again for detailed questions.

Main Aims

  • To provide practice and clarification of Telecommunication vocabulary in the context of Reading and listening

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide gist and detailed conversation gist listening and detailed listening for specific questions

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T lead the Ss to the main aim of this subject with the introductions.

Pre-Listening (5-8 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

T leads Ss into the topic of the lesson with visual aids. Elicits for the Vocabulary without mentioning the communication. A - T askes the C what are the pictures, to elicit names and T asks the C they are used for what? B - Drilling the parts of the communication, board it and T askes for the stress pattern.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (5-8 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

T leads Ss into a gist Listening and Reading part. Which will be a T / F statement practice. They will listen and read then write T/F individually. Then Ss work in pairs to check the answers. T will get the feedback afterwards.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Ss listen to two conversations and match the appropriate pictures to each conversation. T will ask them to check in pairs and class feedback. After the gist listening, Ss will read the conversation again for the second exercise.

Post-Reading/Listening (10-15 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

T will model the activity first so the students can know how to do the exercise by working pairs about the activity. T will monitor the Ss for errors. T will correct the Errors.
