Description

ın this lesson the students discuss about parents role in taking care of children at home. They talk about the difference between man and women in having the resposnsibility to stay at home and look after the child. The students talk with their partners about the issue and give their opinion to the class.Then they listen to Jeff and write how his life has changed since he took care of their child.And then they listen again for details. then they check their answers with their partners and then the whole class.In their groups they talk about wheather these changes are good or bad in life.then they share their ideas with the class. In speaking activity the teacher talks about her road of life and draws the road map on the w/b then the students are given the handout and they look at the pictures and answer the questions with their partners and then the class. While the students are doing the activity the teacher monitors them and then the teachers writes the errors on the board wants them to tell the correct answers.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will show them a picture of a man feeding a child.then I ask the students what he is doing.They will work in pairs and guess the answers.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I pre-teach 'maternıty leave' in order to help the students understand the conversation easily

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

First they will listen to the conversation and get the gist of the topic then they check the answers with a partner then they listen again and check.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

The students listen for the third time to get the specefıc details of the lıstenıng. Then they aswer the questıons and check them wıth a partner and the class.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Students dıscuss the aspects of changes ın lıfe ın theır groups. Then dıscuss the theır lıfe road and changes that have happened durıng theır lıves.
