Engagement/lead-in (3-4 minutes) • to get the students interested in the topic of jobs and places

pre-teaching vocabulary (9-10 minutes) • for Ss to learn some vocabulary before they listen about them

- Ss will be given the pictures of jobs from Cambridge English Unlimited A1 P.17. - Ss will be asked to make sentences using the words in the box in pairs. - The teacher asks Ss randomly for the answers. - The teacher writes a model sentence on the board: "My brother works in an office." - The teacher asks Ss to write one or two sentences about the job of two people they know. - Ss will be asked to stand up and make two rows facing each other. Then the teacher gives the instruction of how they can do the Tank Wheel (with the teacher clapping, they change their partners). - Ss start reading their sentences to the person in front of them.

Listening (12-14 minutes) • listening for finding specific information

- Ss will be shown three pictures from the Cambridge English Unlimited A1 P.18 Ex.1. Then they will be asked to listen to Donna talking about her family. Ss should decide who the people are in photos A-C. ICQs: "Are you going to talk or listen?" "Are you going to write or match?" - After finding about Donna's family, Ss will be given the Map of the World HO (Google Images). They will listen to the audio again and fill in the blanks. - Ss will check their answers with their partners. - The table in Ex.2 will be drawn on the board. Ss will be asked to read their texts again and fill in the blanks (review of the grammar of present simple third person singular -S).
