Description

In this lesson students will speak about rules in different places, firstly rules in ITI in rhe Lead In. After focusing on some language, they are going to role play landladies and tenants. Finally they will be divided into two teams; parents and teachers and discuss rules in their schools. Then each parent is going to pair up with a teacher and discuss rules in pairs.

Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T pdisplays the ITI pictures and elicits what the things are. then T disclays three rules on the board and ask the students discuss whether they are tright or wrong in pairs. Then they come up with ideas and T ticks the right statements on board.

Useful Language (2-4 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

T elicits the words tenant, landlady and landlord from ss by using personalized situations. Then Telicits the language used for asking for and giving permission and put them up on the board. T gets some ss do a demo.

Semi-Controlled Practice (9-11 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

T gives the same number of landlady and tenant cards to students. T makes it clear who is landlady, who is tenant.The object of the game is for all the tenants to find a suitable landlady. To do this, they must move around the class asking what is, and what is not permitted by various landladies, untill they find one who will let them do everything they want. The game is finished when every tenat has found ideal place to stay.

Feedback and Error Correction (2-3 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

T listens to the students and, writes errors they make on the board, then elicits corrections from them.

Free Practice (10-13 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Divide ss into two groups, one group will be group of teachers, the other group of parents. They will sit in their groups and discuss what new rules to implement in their school. Ask ISQs and monitor to make sure everybody is on the track. Then each parent pairs up with a teacher and exchange ideas regarding the rules in the school.

Error Correction and Feedback (3-4 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

T writes some more sentences on the board; this time some of them are correct..SS are encouraged to come and correct the errors. Then T praises ss for good corrections and originally correct sentences.
