Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T writes "LAUGTER THERAPY" on WB. Elicit what this might be from the Ss. "It is an alternative medicine in which people laugh to feel better."

Pre-Listening (4-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Ss do exercise 1 in pairs by asking each other the questions and making notes on their handouts. Volunteer Ss give FB.

Vocabulary Exercise (7-8 minutes) • To prepare students for the upcoming listening task by introducing vocabulary related to it.

Ss work in pairs and do do the vocabulary exercise. S-centred FB will be done. Volunteer Ss will match the vocab with its definition coming by the WB. Clarification of pronunciation and drilling will be done.

While-Listening #1 (6-7 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist listening tasks

Before listening Ss read through exercise 3 and 5. 3: "These titles refer to the different parts of the video. Put the titles in order." 5:"Decide if the statements are T/F." Ss watch the video and do exercise 3. Peercheck will be done. Only for exercise 3 answers will be elicited.

While-Listening #2 (7-8 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference listening tasks

Ss watch the video again and do exercise 5. Ss peercheck their answers and FB will be given. if necessary Ss will watch the video again.

Post-Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Ss do laughter therapy in class "You’re going to try doing some laughter therapy in the class." "In small groups, choose one of the options in exercise 7 and then make notes as preparation to tell your joke or story." "One by one Ss tell their jokes to each other and count how many laughters they've heard in their groups." Delayed correction will be made
