upper-intermediate level

Description

In this lesson, students learn about how to give origami instructions and how to follow these instructions for paper-folding. Lesson starts with a pre-made origami butterfly to set the context. Next, Ss watch a video on how to make an origami butterfly and think about some possible instructions. T elicits some instructions and some key vocabulary and gives out the pictured and the written instructions of the origami butterfly. Ss match the pictured steps with the written instructions. After this controlled practice, Ss are given paper to follow the instructions and make the origami butterfly themselves. At the final stage, students work in groups. Two students in each group are given only the pictured instructions and these students give verbal instructions to the others to make a gift bow. If time activity, the students are given only the written instructions of origami fortuneteller to make it themselves without seeing the pictures.
