Description

In this Students will be introduced with holiday vocabulary and will practice speaking for accuracy. In the lead in stage T will ask questions about their holiday habits. T will stick the vocabulary cartoon on the W/B and elicit their meanings. They will asked to do an matching activity.Then they will play a vocabulary game in groups.MFP stages will be followed.As SC practice they will make questions with the given words and ask questions each other. At the end as a freer practice they will write down the first four words about holiday that come into their minds.Then T get them to speak one by one.This give students a chance to personalize their vocabulary.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To introduce the TL in context

As a smooth transsion from the last lesson I'll ask them what they idi yesterday. Since they'll be introduced with the Holiday vocabulary. I will ask them questions about their favorite holidays , what they generally do on their holidays ,what they did on their last holiday,whether or not they like travelling.

Exposing vocabulary (5-7 minutes) • To introduce the students with the holiday vocabulary.

I write the first words of the phrases and try the elicit the second half through gestures. go for______ ( walks) go___________(swimming) After eliciting all the phrases . I give them the HOs of matching exercise which will provide them to do a controlled practice of TL.

Clarification (10-12 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and the pronunciation of the TL

To clarify the meaning of the vocabulary, Students will play a vocabulary game with which they will describe the words through gestures and find find the matching pairs of the phrases. Then T will write sample sentences on the W/B and clarify the forms of the sentences.At the end they will drill the sentences.

Semi controlled practice (7-9 minutes) • To provide students to practice the vocabulary in the context of simple past and holiday

Ss make a pair work activity at this stage. I give the straps of the words of a sentence to each pair an ask them to form a sentence together. Th ones that form the sentences come to the board and stick them. Then I give them the sentences written on HO and ask the to askm those questions to each other and answer them

Free practice (10-12 minutes) • to give the students a chance to personalize their vocabulary.

I want students to write down the first 3 words about holiday that come into their minds. I then get them to speak one by one for one minute in which they must use all 3 words in some way. I ask others to clap their hands when they like the sentence. I hope this will prevent them to talk.
