Description

it is a lesson about "Doctor " which is talking about" body and health" the lesson from striaght forward course book page" 102 "unit "10D" 1- introducing vocabulary about parts of body and health. 2-personalise the topic by using questions. 3-set a context by using picture about doctor and patient . 4-introducing vocabulary and meaning and pronounciation. 5-practicing of doing a role play . 6-let them to do a role play.

Main Aims

  • To provide introducing vocabulary about body parts and health through the context of doctor and patient

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a health , body parts , doctor and pateint in the context of doctor and patient

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (6-8 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1- asking them about parts of the body that they know . 2- giving them an activity to match the picture to the vocabulary. 3-asking them again to check thier understanding . 4- for anticipating problem i wil use a song about parts of the body .

Exposure (3-5 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

1- showing them two pictures " doctor and patient " . 2- asking them concept checking questions. 3-Is this person is a doctor? 4-Is this person is ill? 5-why is she talking to the doctor? 6-how can the doctor check her ? 7-what can the doctor give her?

Highlighting (5-7 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

1- giving them questions to personalise the topic and to put htem in the same situation . 2-Ss should mingling and asking each other . 3- monitring the Ss . 4-taking a feedback.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

1- using the WB and putting the pictures on it . 2-Ask SS what they think of each picture to discuss in pairs. 3-giving them the vocabulary . 4-ask them to put the vocabulary under each picture. 5-giving them the meaning and ask them to match each picture to it`s meaning. 6-doing drill as individual drill and choral drill.

Controlled Practice (6-5 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

1- giving them questions . 2-Ss should write D if the doctor said that sentence and P for patient. 3-ask them to check there answer as a pair work . 4-put the answers on the wall. 5-ask them to stand and check thier answer.

Semi-Controlled Practice (5-6 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

1- prepare the Ss to the free practice. 2-acting as patient and they are doctors. 3-they asking me some questions and they have to give me the soluations of my proplem.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

1 divde them into two pairs. 2-asking them to act as doctor and the other one is patient .
