Description

In the this lesson, students will learn about countable and uncountable nouns and their usage in the context of good. They will also practice speaking using the countable and uncountable nouns in the context of " eat in or out."

Materials

Abc White board and black marker

Main Aims

  • To provide practice and clarification of food names in the context of eat in or eat out.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice and clarification of Countable and uncountable nouns in the context of Foods

Procedure

Lead in ( Warm up ) (5-8 minutes) • To generate the interest of the learners on the topic

1. Teacher will tell students about his favorite food when he was young. 2. T will ask students to discuss in pairs what their favorite food was when they were young. 3. T will ask students to share what their partners said was his/ her favorite food when young. 4. T will hand pictures to students to check if their they can find their favorite foods. T will ask students if they found any of their favorite foods.

Pre- teach vocabulary (10-15 minutes) • Elicit meaning, from and pronunciation of names of some food and fruits

1. Will use pictures to elicit names of some food and fruits. 2. T will give students picture to match with names of food and the fruits. Students will work in pairs to match the pictures and then compare answers. 3. T will elicit form and pronunciation from the students and then use the whiteboard to write them. 4. T will drill the correct pronunciation in groups in pairs and individually.

Grammar practice (5-8 minutes) • To provide grammar practice.

1. T will give hand out students with the instruction to complete the gap. 2. Students work alone and cross check in pairs 3. T will do W/C feedback and correction.

Speaking (10-12 minutes) • Provide speaking practice in the context of food that can be eaten in or out.

T will group students in a group of 3-4 to discuss. Which foods do they prefer to eat in and which do they prefer to eat out. 2. T will ask SS to nominate two students that will share with the class what the groups have discussed.
