Description

the lesson about " At the movie" from straight forward Ss book page "40" unit "4c" it is a sutible lesson for their level ,the Ss will practice listening for specific infomation about the women talking about the events in the movie and also pre-teach some vocabulary before listening and also to give them plenty of time to talk about thier favourit movie to make them more involved into the lesson .

Main Aims

  • To provide gist and specific information listening practice using a text about movies in the context of a women talking about a movie .

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of arrange,argument,bunch,bookshop,fiction,comdy,romantic,historical. in the context of pre-teach /introduce them before listening stange by using pictures to convey the meaning

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

1- T-S will do a small discussion about what kind of movies they like . 2- find someone who questions the Ss mingling and asking each other questions which they are related tp the topic to make them more involved into the topic. 3- giving feedback .

Pre-Listening (9-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

A- showing them three picture of movies about the topic before they will listening about, to prepare them . B-discuss these pictures into a group of three . -for anticipating the problem that they will not participate : 1- giving them 3 pieces of sentences and they have to match them with the picture. C- pre-teach vocabulary : 1- put the pictures on the white board . 2-giving the Ss the words . 3-Ss have to post the words under or next of the picture. 4-give them the meaning and they have to put it under the picture and the word . 5- do drilling for the new words.

While-Listening #1 (3-6 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist listening tasks

1- listening for a women talking about the events happened in the movie. 2- Ss have to think what kind of film is ti while they are listening .

While Listening #2 (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference listening tasks

1-Ss they will lsten again . 2- while they are listening they have to put the sentences in the right order . 3-answering the question. 4- repeat listening and check thier answer. 4-check thier answers as pair work .

Post Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

1- ask Ss to close their and imagin that they are in a cinema, they have to choose one movie which moive they would like to choose . 2- ask the to open their eyes and walk around and describe thier favourit movie by usin thierown words .
