Description

The lesson focuses on listening for specific information, the students will have the chance to practice listening to three friends, discussing the role of men and women. The lesson starts with introducing vocabulary about compound nouns and adjectives, after listening the students will do anumber of activities. By the end of the lesson, the students will have been introduced to new vocabulary, and have practice listening for specific information.

Main Aims

  • By the end of the lesson students will have been exposed listening to a dialough between three friends about role of men and women.

Subsidiary Aims

  • By the end of the lesson, students will be introduced to compound nouns and adjectives.

Procedure

Pre-teach (7 minutes) • To elicit new vocabulary.

show the students pictures and ask them ( what can you see in the picture? )

controlled activity (7 minutes) • To get student differentiate between compound nouns, adjectives and know the stress of compound nouns.

Ask students to look at words that in the box, then ask them answer the two questions: 1. Which are nouns and which are adjectives? 2. Listen and mark the stress on these compound nouns and adjectives?

controlled activity (8 minutes) • To elicit information from students.

Ask the students to answer this question ( In what do you think women's and men's brain work differently?

controlled activity (8 minutes) • To get students be attention in listening and put the sentences in order.

Ask students to listen to Naomi, Polly and Matt discussing the role of men and women, then ask them to put things in the order they first talk about them.

controlled activity (8 minutes) • To get students listen to specific information

Ask students to listen again, then answer the seven questions

semi- controll activity (7 minutes) • To elicit the opinions from the students

Ask students to discuss five questions, then share their opinion with each other.
