Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a debate in the context of men and women topics and help learners to consolidate ways of expressing agreement and disagreement

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a debate in the context of topics about men and women

Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

i will ask them some questions to elicit thee language by using questions .for example : do you always have the same ideas with another one? if you do/ not have the same ideas what with you like to do or say? how do we agree or disagree in english ?

Clarification (5-7 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

to show them why we use aagreement and disagreement sentences and to give them an excersie by giving them a sentences of agreement or disagreement and they should put them under these headings by using whiteboard so i will ask them to walk and put the sentences under these two headings

Exposure (9-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

to let them to discuss and to expose to the target language i will devide them into to two groups 1 and 2 and i will ask them to stand in a line and facing each other then i will give group 1 some topics about men and women so group 1 should give their opinin about topic and group 2 they should using agreeing and disagreeing sentences polietly then when i clap my hands they should change thier places and i will give them another topic about women and men .

Highlighting (2-5 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

by doing a small discussion about men and women to see if they grasped the agreeing and disagreeing politely by asking them . do you think women better than men?

Controlled Practice (4-5 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

this excercise to learners undrstanding and for more practice ,i will give them a worksheet about sentences and they should write behind them if they are of giving opinin or agreeing or disagreeing .

Semi-Controlled Practice (4-5 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

it is an extension of a worksheet excercise about sentnces and they should complete it by using an examples about agreeing and disagreeing then we discussed the answers togther

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

i will divide them into two groups and give each group a topic so they will discuss it and share ideas
