Description

In this lesson, students learn to make negative and question sentences in simple present tense in the context of habits, daily routines for I, you, we, they.

Procedure

Lead-in (6-8 minutes) • Introducing question and negative forms of Simple Present Tense

Starting with the dialogues od exercise 4 listening in the previous session, I will be introducing the grammar of question and negative forms of Simple Present Tense and will get the Ss to write and say the sentences in exercise 5

Main Task 1 (6-8 minutes) • Getting Ss to make their own sentences in the TL about their own lives

Using the exercise 6, I will get the students to make sentences in TL true for themselves and will get them to check their sentences in pairs

Main Task 2 (10-12 minutes) • Focusing on the question form of TL

Using the exercise 7, I will focus on the question form of Simple Present and short answers and will get S-S dialogues of questions and answers correcting any grammar or pronunciation errors and do choral and individual drilling

Practising TL (10-12 minutes) • Practising making and pronouncing more sentences in TL

Exercise 8 will be done in pairs and then Ss will be re-paired and asked to compare their answers with their new partners. WCFB will follow and I will try and get all the students to pronounce a sentence in TL

Activity (10-12 minutes) • Integrated Skills using TL

A short Find Someone Who activity to get Ss to become more active and use the TL followed by a WCFB and pronunciation drilling if needed
