Procedure

Lead In (10 minutes) • Introduce the topic Country vs City

YouTube Video: "Differences Between City & Country" Q. - What do we mean by the City? - Examples? Q. - What do we mean by the Country? = Any area that is NOT a town or city. Examples? Q. - Is anyone in this classroom from the Country? If yes, do you miss it?

Vocabulary - Country (20 minutes) • Ss learn vocabulary related to the Country

What is a farm? 4 Groups Liz - City to Country ".....I was bored with my easy city life. I wanted to live somewhere quieter, simpler. more beautiful. So, I bought a farmhouse on 50 acres of land. I thought.....I'll look after horses and grow my own food. It will be idyllic!.....But, the house I moved into was cold and dirty, I had to drive miles to get to a shop and I never fitted in because I don't think single women are accepted in the country!...And, I hated men shooting the rabbits and deer and so was always getting out of my car and criticising them for it. I was unpopular and lonely. After five years, I went back to live in London. My time in the country was like a five-year prison sentence!......" The rural sights, sounds of the birds singing in the sunshine and the friendly communities beat the city any day!......"
