Description

The lesson focuses on the vocabulary ( verbs and prepositions ), and reading skills ( protect your identity ), the lesson starts with a lead-in about personal information, reading advert about ( protect your identity with Cabott & Spencer ) and do some reading practice. By the end of lesson students will have some activities such as fill the gaps.

Main Aims

  • The main aim is to expose learners to new vocabulary in the context of ( protect your identity).

Subsidiary Aims

  • The subsidiary aim is to get students practice reading comperhension.

Procedure

lead-in (5 minutes) • To elicit information from students.

Show the students a driving license and a visa card then ask them ( what they are ?)

controlled activity (5 minutes) • To get the students talk about their personal information.

Ask students to discuss the three questions.

controlled activity (5 minutes) • To let the students guess what the pictures talk about ?

Ask students (what do they think these pictures talk about ?) also asking them (what do you know about identity theft ?)

controlled activity (6 minutes) • To check students understanding.

Ask students to read the advert and answer the question ( How many of the things you discussed are in the advert ? )

controlled activity (6 minutes) • To find out if the students understand the advert.

Ask students to read the advert again and find answers to the four questions.

controlled activity ( fill in the gaps ) (7 minutes) • To let the students be familiar with the verbs and prepositions.

Ask students to fill in the gaps with the correct prepositions, then ask them to answer the question ( which have an object before the preposition ? )

controlled activity ( mingling ) (5 minutes) • To teach the students the meaning of some words for example: cope with something.

Ask students to find the definition of words.

controlled activity ( fill in the gaps ) (6 minutes) • To help students to put the verbs and prepositions in the correct form.

Ask students to fill in the gaps with the correct form of the verbs and prepositions.
