Description

In this lesson, students will be making sentences with "have/has got" and their contractions through the context of personal possessions and will be introduced to the MFP of the context and vocabulary used and the form of sentences made

Main Aims

  • To introduce and give practice in "have/has got" in the positive & negative to describe personal possessions

Subsidiary Aims

  • Vocabulary of personal possessions, listening & speaking

Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • Ensuring students have understood and remember the context before moving on to the main aim

I will put some items from the listening from the previous lesson on the w/b and ask students questions to see what they remember and what not and drill pronunciations again to keep them on the same context to move on from

Introduction to the main task (5-7 minutes) • Eliciting TL

Making example sentences and making sure they understand the meaning and can spell and pronounce correctly, then eliciting different sentences of all forms - positive & negative & drilling with focus on contractions

Task (8-10 minutes) • To ensure they understand all different forms of the task

Exercising all different forms of the task with as many different sentences as enough for the students to understand without getting bored

Vocabulary (8-10 minutes) • To ensure they have learned the vocabulary and can spell and pronounce right

getting students to find the correct vowels for the devowelled words and pronounce them correctly

Pre-Listening (4-5 minutes) • To let students discuss in pairs the possible answers to a questionnaire

I will ask the students to discuss in pairs the possible answers that they think Bill and Sally have given to the shop survey / questionnaire

Listening (8-10 minutes) • Detailed listening

Will let them listen to the audio once or twice if needed and ask them to fill the chart and then check in pairs and will then be getting a wcfb and will drill on the main task and vocabulary once more
