Description

In this lesson, students are going to listen to an interview. Then they'll be asked to answer the questions about the text. They will listen to it again and this time answer the questions of part 2. Afterwards they are going to check their answers with partners. If there are any unknown words, they'll be explained. After taking the feedbacks, I will give them the handouts on which they'll speak about

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To warm the students to the topic

I'll ask their opinion about a father's taking care of his kid.

Pre-Listening 1 (3-5 minutes) • Challenge them to speak

I'll show the picture of a father and a baby. Ask Ss students some warm up questions and want them to talk about it in pairs.

Pre-Listening 2 (1-3 minutes)

T will ask the Ss what may be the topic of the interview. Who could be the person who was being interviewed.

Gist listening (5-8 minutes) • To develop students' ability to comprehend the gist of a text

T tell the Ss to listen to the cd & answer the questions in ex. 1 . Ss check their answers in pairs. T will get some general FB.

Pre-Detailed Listening (3-4 minutes) • To challenge them to listen more carefully

T wants Ss to read the questions in ex.2 and ask them whether or not they can answer some of them. T leaves Ss free to discuss in groups. T get some general FB.

Detailed Listening (6-8 minutes) • To encourage students for more challenging detailed listening.

T plays cd & Ss listen & check their answers with their partners. T takes WC feedback

Preparation for speaking (4-6 minutes) • To warm the students to speaking topic

T wants Ss visualize their life as a road & think about it. T reminds them the metaphors such as cross roads, unexpected turns.T hands them over the blank road maps.T shows how her road map looks like and asks them to draw their own road maps .T writes some sample sentences which they can use while describing their maps.

Speaking activity (5-7 minutes) • To develop their speaking skills

T wants Ss to choose their own partners & talk about their roads with their partners

Post speaking (3-5 minutes) • To encourage them to speak in the classroom

T take some general FB on what they've learnt about each other

Error correction (2-4 minutes) • To make them see their mistakes & correct them

T takes notes of the errors Ss makes.Write on the WB & asks Ss to correct them
