Main Aims

  • To provide practice of if conditional rule in the context of if the men had not run away,she could have killed them.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of the past perfect tense

Procedure

Warmer activity (5-7 minutes) • To engage students

tis activity is to creat a positive atmospher for the Ss ,for this warmer activity i will say one word like: children,cat,find,.... and one of them should be out of the class and after he will come back the the rest they should act like children or cats ....., so he will guess the word

Exposure (2-5 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

i will ask them some questions to elicit the language for example: have you heard any good or bad news recently ? and i will ask them more questions related to the topic by shwing them pictures then i will ask them to minglin and discuss the questions.

Highlighting (2-5 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

first they should listen to CD recorder to draw their attention to the target language after they finished i will ask them some questions to check their understanding

Clarification (5-6 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

i will write on the white board some sentence about 3 conditional to clarify the meaning and the form, usage of the 3 conditional.

Controlled Practice (4-5 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Ss they should work in pairs then will give them a paper to match the word with its verb

Semi-Controlled Practice (5-6 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

the Ss should work in pairs to put the right answer

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

divide the class into groups annd hand out the materials then set the contxet by telling them : you are all very nice people and iove to help others , whenever you heard someone has had a problem ,you express how sorry you are for not having been able to help ,and say what you would have done to help if only you`d known. players place thier counter on the four start corners of the board . players take turns casting the dice and moving their counters accordingly,when ever a player lands out on a square with "saintly-looking face" ,the person to his or her left picks a card and reads out the situation . the player responds as shown in language output.
