Description

In this lesson, we will be reviewing the use of will and be going to, also we'll be comparing both of the uses.

Materials

Main Aims

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice of language used for talking about the future.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Teacher will ask the sts to talk in pairs about "where are they going to go on their next holiday?" sts have to write Three sentences.

Test #1 (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

sts will be asked to finish the test 1 exercise. after that sts will check in pairs and then they will be asked to come to WB and select the right answer.

Teach (15-20 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

sts will be asked to do (grammar handout) and then to check answers together in pairs. then the teacher will do the exercises with the sts clarifying any difficult areas. also the teacher will show the sts a timeline that will make it clear to them how to use will and going to in the right place.

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

sts will do test 2 individually and then check in pairs afterward the teacher checks answers on the WB

Game (13-15 minutes) • To provide students with a practice of the target language

sts will be put in to groups and the teacher will show some questions, the group gives the most right answers will win.
