Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Show a picture of an ice-cream. Ask them about their favorite one.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Project the page on wb. Explain it you+present simple You type your address here. imperative form Click on that button. Don't do that.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

The Ss are given hand outs of the tapescript. They will underline the instructions and sequencing adverbs in pairs. They will check the answers on board.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

The students will get an instruction manual for an ice-cream maker. First; they will practice underlining the "imperatives" There will be some CCQs on the board: Can I use it outdoors? Can I touch the hot surfaces? Can I operate it dry?

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

The students will get some recipes. They will rewrite the recipes together using imperatives. Vocabulary given: stir, mix, freeze.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

The Ss are given some papers about "how to...." They will be given a few minutes to write some notes about it. They have to learn about 3 abilities from their friends. They will talk to each other about them using the imperatives.
