In this lesson,Ss will practice speaking throug various controlled,freer activities.First they will listen to a tape which models the TL and uses the useful phrases.Then Ss will be given time to prepare and interview their partners about their memorable events and finally they will summarize it and will read it for the WC

Main Aims

  • To provide speaking practice for fluency

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice of listening for gist


Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will show them some photos and will ask their opinions about them.Then will ask Ss to discuss with their partner which one they like the most and why.

Listening task/Exposure/Modeling (4-7 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through speaking task

Ss will be asked to listen to two people describing a memorable event they have attended.Then they should answer the questions(The questions will be given to them)and then check their answers.

Find someone who/Controlled activity (4-7 minutes) • To practice some useful language about Events

Ss will be given HO and the useful language is written at the bottom of the page.Ss should mingle and ask other Ss and fill the gaps by names.

Exercise 1/Prepration (5-8 minutes) • To think and decide which even they want to talk about and prepare their for the interview

Ss will be introduced to the task.T will tell them to think of one or two events and prepare for the interview.T will go through some useful language and will hand it to them.Then Ss will have few minutes to think of how they are going to use the language and get prepared.

Productive Task/Freer speaking activity (10-13 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Ss will sit in front of each other will take turns to interview each other.The useful language will be given to them so that they can have a guidance how to construct sentences and describe their events.Ss should take notes when they are having discussion.T will monitor them closely to check if bot sides have equal time to talk and if everyone is on the task.T will also take notes of the errors and will go through them after the activity

Summarise activity (3-5 minutes) • To see the result of the productive activity

Ss will be given a short time(two minutes) to briefly summarize their notes about their partner's story and then some of them will be nominated to read their summaries aloud.

Error Correction (2-4 minutes) • To clarify some common errors of the Ss and correct them

T will write some of the Ss error on the board and will try to elicit the right form from Ss.This stage will be skipped if i run out of time
