Beginner level

Description

In this lesson, students are exposed to vocabulary related to cities by reading a travel brochure for two cities, Barcelona and Prague. First, vocabulary will be elicited, checked and drilled through using pictures and a matching exercise. Then students will speak with each other about their own city using the vocabulary. They read the brochure, matching headings with sections and finally matching a list of items with the correct city.

1. Show Slide 2 - signs from ex. 1. Ask for the English word. What is this? Repeat and drill those that they know. 2. Show HO - matching words to signs. Do the first one as an example with WC. Ask them to complete HO by themselves. 3. Show Slide 3 - signs with space to write next to them. Give pens to early finishers and ask them to write on WB. 4. Check answers as WC and drill words again.
