A personal e-message Reading and Writing
Elementary workbook level


This lesson follows on from the previous lesson in that it develops the student's ability to use the TL, but this time in writing.


Main Aims

Subsidiary Aims

  • Vocab – functional language for describing people


Warmer/Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will draw the pictures or show the pictures of some phisical apperiance related words like moustache beard glasses etc. and ask the Ss to guess the pictures name and I will write the names under the pictures.

Task (7-10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Ss will read the Gap filling ex. and discus with patner to guess 1. What is the text about? 2. Who is writing? 3. To whome she is writing?

Planning (8-10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to plan students' reports

Ss will read the additional paragraph from the workbook and do Ex. 2 ( TF Questions ). Their answers will be dicuss in different pairs.

Exposure (5-7 minutes) • To provide a model of the task and highlight useful words and phrases

Ss will be given the useful language and teacher will work on the meaning Form and the pronunciation of the language- Repetition and drilling.

group work exercise - productive (7-10 minutes) • to make the Ss to work on their write and speak about apperiance

I will give the Ss to fill an incomplete letter and pass it to the ext perso and the game goes the same way. each student will write a line and pass, at the end they will guess who has written that

Language Practice (5-7 minutes) • To provide students with practice of the task language

if there is more time I will ask the students to describe their pairs in front of the class
