Description

In this lesson students will scan to match information and pictures also they will read the text to identify the meaning of phrasal verbs from the text. The text will be about having a list for things you want to do during the day. They will be given the opportunity to talk about their note taking habits and types of reminders that they use during the day.

Procedure

Warm up (5-7 minutes) • To set the context by asking questions about the students habits

I will show students some to do list examples on the board and ask them what they are. I will ask them if they do the same thing and how they remember the things that they want to do during the day. I will ask them if it is easy or difficult to remember what they want to do during the day.

controlled practice (10-12 minutes) • To read the text for matching

I will chest the text and explain that I want the students to read the text . I will show them the four different pictures on the board. I will ask them to match the pictures with the people in the text. I will tell them that details are not important and what matters is matching. I will ask them to check the answers in pairs of 2. Finally we will check the answers in the class.

controlled practice (7-9 minutes) • Identifying meaning of the phrasal verbs

I will chest the second HO and explain that there are 6 sentences on it. I will tell them that they need to match the underlined phrases with a phrasal verb in the mentioned line. I will ask them to check their answers in pairs. I will ask the early finishers to come to the board and right the phrasal verb next to the underlined phrase. Finally we will check the answers in the class. I will check the phrasal verbs and their definitions and will have drilling.

Freer practice (4-6 minutes) • To talk about habits using phrasal verbs

I will ask the students to talk about sentences a-f and see if they are right about them. I will ask them about what calms them down when they are stressed.

Freer practice (10-12 minutes) • To talk about plans

I will ask the students to write down their plans for the rest of the day on a post-it. I will ask them to get up and walk around the class and show each other the papers and guess what they are going to do. I will ask them to talk top at least 3 students. when they are done talking I ask them to tell the class about their classmates plans of the day. Finally i will ask them if It was easy or difficult to guess their classmates plans by looking at their notes.
