In this lesson,students will practice lexis by learning new words in the context of food.First i will present them new words and then will ask them to do a matching task.Then will do task 1 which they have to see which word belongs to which item in the picture.Then they will discuss with each other which item is their favorite one.Then will move to the idiom part which they have to guess which alternatives is the right for the idiom.Then will check their answers with the tape and finally will find the synonyms of the underlined words in each conversation.

Warmer/Lead-in (6-8 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Teacher writes the word FOOD on the the board and will introduce the topic to ss with some questions like what is their favorite food and is that food good for them or not.Then will pre teach the words that think that they don't know like aubergine,cauliflower,garlic,lettuce and sardines.By showing them pictures and describing the meaning and drilling and then writes them on the board.

Matching task (3-5 minutes) • To check if the ss have understood the meaning of new words

Teacher will give them some slips and photos and tells them that they should should match each food to the appropriate picture,they have a time limit for this.Then they will check their answers in pairs

Task1/vegetables and fruits task (3-5 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice the main aim

Now that ss know all the words,They will be told that look at the picture and see which fruits or vegetables in the list are missing in the picture,They will do it in pairs.Then will check with WC

Task2/Making sentences (4-6 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice the grammar they ve been taught and the new vocabulary in 1 task

Ss will be given time to place the items in the correct position individually.Teacher will do a modeling first write it on the board then will ask them to do it themselves.They will check their answers in pairs then

Task3/Freer discussion by using the new vocabulary (6-8 minutes) • To review the new words by personalising the task in which ss will talk about their ideas.

Ss will be asked to write down which items they always buy and which they never buy.then will mingle and ask their friends opinion

Food idioms (5-7 minutes) • To pre teach the unknown idioms to ss

I will show them some photos related to each phrase and try to elicit some information from ss and then ill present each of them and will write it on the board.

listening task (3-5 minutes) • To scan for the appropriate information while listening

Ss will listen to the tape and choose the alternatives for each idioms.then will check it in pairs

Synonym finding (2-4 minutes) • To review the meaning of idioms

SS are supposed to find the synonyms for the underlined words in the conversations with their new pairs
