To provide clarification of like and dislike words in the context of free time
To provide accuracy speaking practice in a discussion in the context of free time
Procedure (32-48 minutes)
I will ask students 'How was your weekend? , Did you have a good weekend?, what did you do?' they didn't study past simple by this question I want to elicit some vocabulary and phrases of free time.
I will ask students 'what do you do on sundays ? They will make a list of activities. ICQ: Are you going to write a sentence? Are you going to make a list? Then in pairs they will discuss and share their own ideas.(they will make present simple form)I will be able to involve them to talk about the weekend. FB: I will ask two students about their weekend. I will tell SS to tick the activities that they do in their free time, then they will discuss in pair. Next they will match the phrases to pictures. FB : check answers on WB
I will ask SS to tick the activities that they like /don't like. Then they will match pictures to the phrases. FB; check in pair FB: check on WB. I will draw a cline on WB and spread the cards (love, like,it's ok, don't like, really like, quite like, hate)on the desk and ask SS to come to the desk and stick on WB. FB: I will check WB In front of the cline I will stick the vocabulary and phrases of ex.2.Then I will clarify the meaning. CCQs : Do I love dancing? Do I hate dancing? Do I like dancing? I will write form on WB.
I will ask SS to come to the board and complete the table(verb+ing/verb+noun)In group of 3 ,students will talk about their own free time, They will use love, like, hate.....in present simple form. FB: I will ask a few students to tell about their friends. I will ask SS to stand up and ask their classmates "Do you like......?"
