To provide detailed reading practice using a text about films
To provide clarification and practice of films vocabulary
Procedure (38-47 minutes)
As an introduction, I will ask some students to tell me what they did on Wednesday (no lesson). I will tell them that I went to the cinema and watched a film. Then I will ask if they movies and show a slide of the first exercise. I will give then the HO and read the questions and answer it quickly to give an example. They will work in pairs and ask those questions to each other. For the feedback, I will ask just those questions to 3 different students to check if they understood the task.
Working in groups, students will have to match pictures with slipes of different types of films. I will also project the different images on the WB and give to some groups bigger versions of those silps to stick to the WB. During the FB, we will check the answers and work on the pronunciation with some drilling. Then I will ask them to work in pairs to do exercise 3a. We will quickly correct the answers with WC. Then I will ask them to write the last movie they have seen and to work in pairs asking questions in exercise 3a. I will make a demo with a student asking me teh 2 first questions. For the FB, I will ask a couple of students to tell me what they learnt about their partner.
After playing the first notes of the Star Wars soundtrack, I will ask what they know about the movie. After explaining some vocabulary in exercise 4a, I will ask them to work in groups and to work on it. I will ask some of them to explain me their answers during the FB.
I will ask them to read the questions first and then the text. They can check the answers with their partner when they finished.
During the FB, I will use the WB where I projected the text to highlight where the answers were. I will also question the learners about Todd's behaviour and what they think about it.
