Description

In this lesson ,students will be having a speaking lesson in context of good and bad holidays. Students will be asked what factors they consider are important to their holidays as a lead in . Then students will be asked to do a matching game to prepare for TL. This is to guide students find out the meaning of related vocabularies. a whole class feedback is conducted. Then students will be asked read some extracts about holidays and identify where the reading extracts from.students will see a production model and this prepares them for contents. a whole class feedback is conducted again. Then students will be asked to do a categorize activities to prepare them for good things and bad things about holiday.meaning, form and pronunciation will be clarified as needed. Then they will have 2 or 3 rounds of speaking to practice their fluency followed by a class feedback

Main Aims

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Students will be asked to discuss which of the factors presented are important to their holiday. This is to prepare students for the lesson and get them familiar with the topic.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Students will be asked to do a matching game (match the pictures to holiday related words). This it to guide students finding out the meaning of the words via pictures matching. then an open class feedback is conducted. After the feedback, the form and pronunciation of the words will be clarified.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Students will be asked to read a short text which contains TL. then they will be asked to identify where the extracts are from. This will help students identify how holidays are described differently in brochures and emails. This provides them with examples so they can use in the speaking stage. another exercise is presented after asking them to categorize those words. It will also prepare them for speaking of the good things and bad things about their holidays.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

students will be conducted 2 to 3 rounds of speaking activities. first round, students will discuss their good/bad holidays. second round, students will tell their partners about their dream holiday. third round, if time permits, they will talk about their next holiday destination. open class feedback will be conducted after each round.

Feedback and Error Correction (3-5 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Open class feedback is conducted as a conclusion.
