Description

In this lesson, Ss review time and money. How to tell time and use time and currency words. They will be working in groups to practice saying and understanding the TL.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T will write a few times on the WB: 10:30am, 11:15am, 1:00pm, 2:45pm then ask the Ss what time it states. Once the Ss have stated all the times. T will ask "what time does our English class start?( 10:30am-ten thirty) What time does our english class end?" (1:00pm-one o'clock) T will write $Dollars, ¢ cents, € Euros, and £ Pounds and ask how they are pronounced/said. FB: fix and errors in pronunciations.

Exposure (10-12 minutes) • Practice Saying Times and Money Vocabulary

Instructions: Chest the HO-"we will get into groups of 3(using hand gestures). There are 2 columns a HEAR column(using hand gesture showing ear) and a SAY (using hand gesture to mouth). Student A will start with the SAY column and you will look at the HEAR column on your sheet to look for what you have just heard. Then you will say what you have next to that in your SAY column. Tick the ones you have HEARD and SAID" T-will ask 2 students to help demonstrate. ICQ- Do you read?(no) Do you write? (no) Do you listen/hear? (yes) Do you speak?(yes) Using hand gestures group Ss into 3s. T Monitors for any problematic vocab. FB on WB for most common mistakes.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

T: "Who likes to go to the movies? Well lets go to the movies then." Instructions- Chest HO We will be role playing/acting. You will be working in pairs. Ss A will be a customer and Ss B will be the ticket seller. Ss A first will be buying 2 tickets for a movie and finding out what time it starts and how much it will be, and then Ss B will be selling the tickets and telling the time for when the movie starts and how much it will cost. Once we have done this we will switch roles (using hand gestures) and Ss A will be the ticket seller and Ss B will be the one buying the tickets and learning the times. FB: T will be monitoring and making sure the questions are asked and answered correctly. Instructions: We're going to do this again this time I want you to buy more than two tickets for a different movie. Using hand gestures T will be counting pointing at each student from1-9 for Ss A group and then counting from 1-9 again pointing at each Ss for group B. Ss find your partners and Start. T will be monitoring and helping the Ss make sure the questions are asked and answered correctly. FB: On WB will be pointing out the errors that came up the most.

Feedback and Error Correction (6-8 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

On WB writing and drilling the questions or vocabulary that majority of the students had problems with.
