Past Simple Lesson
Pre- Intermediate level
To provide awareness about the past events through using the simple past tense.
To provide more fluency and accuracy while pronouncing regular and irregular words.
Procedure (18-26 minutes)
First, I will ask the students about McDonald's before I start talking about the simple past tense, where they will get to combine their knowledge with their speaking skills.
Through fill in the blanks exercise students will learn how to use the tense in the right way.
I will hand them colorful papers to practice their pronunciation skills in simple past tense. For 'd' sound they will put the pink papers on the air and for the 't' sounds in the end of the words, they will put the blue papers on the air. I will monitor this activity and correct their mistakes.
I will correct their errors if I hear or notice anything wrong.
I will ask them questions by the end of the hand out exercises. They will be in pairs and mingle with each other. I will monitor and listen to them, also will correct their mistakes.
