Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Introduce myself and where I'm from. Give the students a quick breakdown of how we will conduct our lessons; individual, pw, and gw.

Pre-Listening (5-8 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I will ask the students if they have a social media page such as Twitter Facebook and what types of information do they list about themselves on their social media page. I will ask students if they have found any particular pages interest as far as hobbies that the person they like to do I will also ask them if they have any hobbies of your own and after that will go to the snapshot exercise in our book. We will take two minutes to read over the friend finder portfolio of two and then we will ask the students if they think Ted and Ann could be friends

While-Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

We will listen to the conversation between Ted and Ann and how they met at skating after this students will practice the conversation in pair work, then we'll play the audio again, and ask if they noticed other information that may've been interesting.

Post-Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Students will practice a free speaking exercise where they will break into groups and discuss some interesting things they have noticed on people's social media pages, encourage them to think of ones that stand out as odd or strange
