Description

This lesson will enhance Ss ability to form sentences in the correct order. It will also give students common phrases and the proper use in real life situations. The lesson will be thought using an imaginary job interview situation. Ss will be divided into two groups and PW method will be used to Increase STT. T will monitor Ss to enhance proper language in a particular life situation.

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide practice vocabulary in the context of general situations. Provide an understanding of sentence syntax structure

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide speaking skills in real world situations such as an interview.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To get students feel interested in the lesson and feel engaged.

Greet students, introduce Self again to get students know the T and make eye contact with each. Try to remember names of students and ask if not remembered.

Exposure (5-7 minutes) • Explain the tasks we will be doing during class

Describe each exercise that will be conducted and why it's useful in real world situations.

Exercise practice 6, 7A,B, 8A (20-30 minutes) • Proper ordering of words in a sentence. Speaking and interaction practice for real world situations.

1. T gives handouts to students for exercise 6. Interact students and help them if they have any questions. At the and of stage correct answers are discussed with Ss 2. T divides class in two groups and ask students to complete ex. 7A. Discuss which expression are formal and which are not and why in PW. 3. Role play. Students are divided in two groups. One group is assigned to do the applicant and one group is assigned to be the interviewer. (PW)

Report (3-5 minutes) • To allow students to report on how they did the task and how it went

Ask Ss how the interview process went and what they learned about the interaction. Use TS interaction as well as GW discussions
