Description

In this lesson students will learn to pronounce fruits and vegetables, classify them and write them.

Materials

  • To provide product writing practice of a list in the context of food

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Start with a brief conversation with the students relating them to the topic from a What are your favorite fruits and vegetables?

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Show students an eye-catching video on the topic of fruits and vegetables.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Present material about fruits and vegetables where students classify and separate fruits from vegetables.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Present little cards in which the students will observe the name of the fruit or vegetable and its translation. With which the students will relate to their image.

Controlled Practice (5-7 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Explicar al alumno brevemente lo que diferencia las frutas de los vegetales.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Ask the student to write their 5 favorite fruits and 5 vegetables accompanied by a representative drawing of each one.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Practice the pronunciation of each word in a general way.
