Description

In this lesson, students will learn the names of farm animals in English through pronunciation and observation. The activities will begin with supporting images to relate the name to the image, as they progress in the process audio will be added to improve performance.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Play a song about animals in English so that the children can relate the names and then ask the students which animals they could identify.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Write on the board the names of the farm animals with images to relate the content of the class.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Play as a team with a memorama to match the name with the image of the farm animals.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Review the pronunciation of farm animals with the help of interactive cards.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Write down in the notebook the name of your favorite farm animal and draw it.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Ask the students to share with the class the animal they put in the previous exercise to practice pronunciation.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Finally, after knowing the complete vocabulary, the students will have to make a copy to relate the name of the farm animals with their image.
