Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (5-8 minutes) • Invite the group to identify the seasons of the year.

Start the class by challenging students with questions to introduce the class: -What is your favorite time of the year? -What is the weather like on that date? -What are the streets like on each of the dates that were mentioned?

Exposure (8-15 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Play the video as a co-instructional strategy to make it easier for students to recognize the seasons of the year. The Seasons of the Year for Children - Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter - What are the seasons? Question students: -What are the characteristics of spring? -What are the characteristics of summer? -What are the characteristics of autumn? -What are the characteristics of winter? -What is your favorite?

Highlighting (10-20 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Go out to the playground in an orderly manner with their notebooks. Take a short tour around the school in an orderly manner and observe what is around them. Draw in the notebook characteristics of the day (weather, if there are animals, what color the plants are, etc.). Return to the classroom and present the drawings with 5 students and explain what they observed.

Clarification (25-30 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Show students the station cards and tell them to repeat after me. -Spring: there are lots of flowers, trees, it's starting to feel a little warm. -Summer: beach, sun, sand, heat. -Autumn: brown leaves, halloween, cool. -Winter: snowman, cold, jacket, ice.

Controlled Practice (20-35 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Instruct students to draw a picture of each of the seasons with things that make them meaningful: -Spring: Flowers -Summer: Sun -Autumn: Dry leaves -Winter: Snow

Semi-Controlled Practice (15-20 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Make teams and give each team a card and they will have to find out what season it is by means of different words that relate to each other.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Give the students a copy where they should write down which food is recommended to eat in each of the stations, and which is not.
