Description

In this lesson, students learn food vocabulary through a series of writing and visualization activities, firstly, a diagnosis is established with keywords and the students have to have an interpretation with the images shown and the written words (these words will be general based on the classification of a group of things), to finish the students doing an activity with the help of cards to match the names with the corresponding image

Main Aims

  • To provide review of food in the vocabulary

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide review of food in the context of hamburger, pizza, spaghetti, sausage, onion, tomato, chili, orange, apple, banana, grapes, meat, chicken, milk, garlic

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

mention some words in Spanish such as blouse, pants, orange and apple, ask: what is the difference between these objects?, come to the conclusion that some objects are clothes and other food

Test #1 (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

It will be shown on a cardboard divided into three, in these divisions there will be keywords (food, clothing and jobs), images referring to the keywords will also be shown, ss will have to classify each image with the corresponding keyword

Teach (15-20 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

Point out the objective of the class through a feedback of the food labeled on the cardboard, ask the SS if they know the name in English of the food shown, write on the board the names of each image of food that is contained in the food section and request that they copy it in the notebook

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

Show some cards with the names of the food and ask the students to identify the name of the food, when mentioning what food it is about, turn the card over and see if it is correct

Free practice (10-13 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Ask the SS to mention which of the foods we met is their favorite
